Well this blog comes a little late I guess, but that's ok.
Our time here in NC has come to an end. We leave tomorrow for Boston. Pretty excited about that.
Anyways. From what the Keith and Josh told me, NC was a last minute thing. I guess a few things fell through in another area? I don't know. For the beginning of an outreach I am very excited about it. It was such a good kick-start to this six week shabang.
First of all our host homes were absolutely a God-send. They were SO hospitable and so full of Jesus. Our contacts were such good people. Great hearts, great friends. They were former YWAMers. So they were able to relate to some of the difficulties of outreach and help us out on a HUGE scale.
Saturday we were hooked up with a small church called ReNew. They are currently meeting in the Steele Creek Church building where we did most of our stuff this weekend. Sweet church, 4000+ members. They enjoy the Holy Spirit so HALLELUJAH! Love those Holy Spirit goodies.
Anyways, the church service went well. My SOW team and I lead worship which was really cool hah. We were doing sound check and we had a whole set list. Yeah, God changed that up. We just stayed on this chord progression and worshipped. Freakin fun. After worship we did clincher and I preached. Hoorah. It was the sermon I wrote for SOW lecture phase. I think it went well. From what I saw during the message the crowd didn't look like they were enjoying it too much but after a lot of people came up and thanked me and blessed me. It was cool. God's been showing me "Keep my head UP". Keep my eyes on Him. This isn't about a response you get or anything like that, it's for His glory. Love the revelations I've been getting so early on outreach. God is so good.
Sunday we had the opportunity to lead worship for one of the Youth services of Steele Creek church. Such an awesome time. Spirit was there and we felt so much passion coming from the crowd. For me it was kind of shocking. My whole life I went to youth groups where it was so dead and dry. God is really starting to awaken the Youth of our country, and it's so exciting.
I have an excitement in my heart about this trip. I truly believe the church will have their eyes opened again in the East Coast, where are country and our church was founded.
My SOW team has kept feeling: "Empty ourselves completely and get filled with Him." There has been many different things that have lead back to it. Different words we have received and leading to different scriptures. Words about through our worship and also our coming and going the glory of the Lord reflected off us will bring change. I'm so excited to see what God does.
It was cool we went to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte today. That was pretty awesome. He is such an incredible man of God. If God uses one man to change the world because Billy was obedient to Him, what can a group of 15 kids do for the Kingdom out of our obedience? I don't know that's been on my mind today. Jeeze i'm so excited!
So, it's been a fantastic start to an outreach. God has encouraged us in alot of ways already. Pray for me and my team that the passion we have now will stay fresh through the whole outreach. Pray for us this week as we'll be heading into Boston. Total different area spiritually speaking, not really sure what to expect but I do expect God to do some crazy things!
